ScoringLive ready to turn corner

2010-03-19

When I started ScoringLive back in 2008 (or was it earlier than that?), I had hoped that it would expand and evolve into something pretty large scale. Now, only 2 years of dev later, SL is getting ready to launch our fifth and sixth "sub-sites," as baseball rolls out early next week, with softball to follow close behind.

Funny to see how an idea that started with just hoping to get some semblance of scores and win-loss record for Damien Memorial School has expanded to encompass not only the regular season for the ILH and OIA in football, but the HHSAA tournament and the Aloha Prep Bowl as well. The ante got further upped with the addition of both boys and girls basketball coverage for the OIA regular season and tournaments, as well as wall-to-wall coverage of the HHSAA state tourneys. Wrestling, for what it was worth was pretty much just getting the stats from the state tourney in an indexable HTML format, but even that was I think a fairly big leap in coverage for high school sports for the state.

Look for more to come next season, as SL looks to not only expand the variety and breadth of high school sports we cover, but to also include the stories and feature articles that make the stats that much more meaningful.
